Abstract: 

This study identifies the axistence of continuity of an artist or art figure as

an art institution. These two elements are indirectly interrelated in their functions

and contributions toward the community and education. The study is carried out in

Kampung Padang Changkat, Kuala Kangsar, Perak where the entrepreneurs in the

area receive assistance from the Member of Parliament, Datuk Sen Rafidah Aziz.

The information is gathered through interviews and observations on Hajjah Azizah

bt. Yusufand two of her former students; Pn. Azizah Haji Adam and Pn. Salmiah

bt. Joya along with their staff. This study identifies several important issues such as

the role of the figure as an art institution and her contributions to the local

community. In addition, the researcher also studies her contributions in arts. The

study concludes that Hajjah Azizah is no doubt an art institution specializing in the

art embroidery 'Tekaf. Opinions and suggestions given are to generate and

stimulate teachers of arts to put artists and art figures at a high status as a field of art appreciation in the Art subject.
